By trade, attorneys are trained litigators. Operating effectively in a non-adversarial process such as collaborative divorce, however, requires a shift in thinking and development of skills that are not taught in law school.
Brian Urban brings a wealth of training and experience to his collaborative divorce cases. As one of only three members of the Collaborative Law Task Force for Ohio Supreme Court’s Subcommittee on Alternative Dispute Resolution Options, he led the legislative effort to pass the Ohio Collaborative Family Law Act in 2012. As a director, member and former president of the prestigious Cleveland Academy of Collaborative Professionals, he promotes and maintains the highest standards for collaborative practitioners.
Starting in 2001, Brian has endeavored upon a consistent path of taking advantage of opportunities to attend continuing education that builds his collaborative skills.
